Dear Winter Recreationists,
With the holidays approaching fast, I wanted to take this opportunity to get an important date on your calendars. You are invited to attend the Sunday, February 10th, 2013 meeting of the Mt. Rose Winter Collaboration Group. This group consists of stakeholders who are working together on ways to improve winter recreation on federal lands in the Lake Tahoe Basin along the Mt. Rose Corridor, Hwy 431.
Stakeholders representing the interests of skiers, snowmobilers, snowshoers, snowboarders, birders, land managers, and agencies involved in winter recreation will discuss and collaborate on solutions for some of the issues facing winter recreation within the Lake Tahoe Basin. At the conclusion of these meetings, recommendations of the collaboration will be presented to the U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin: Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU).
Our agenda for the Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 meeting will include reviewing last year's progress and diving into a discussion of ways to improve education and enforcement.
Please feel free to share this email and invite others who are open to collaboration as a way to resolve winter recreation conflicts. Participants should be willing to commit to on-going meetings on a regular basis, commit to open and honest communication, listen and respect diverse opinions and be courteous to all participants.
